Introduction: Bird Tributary - Ghetto Dash

My wife bought a new set of pans recently to replace the 20 yr darkened ones which were pretty damaged.

I could not flip them to the bin directly and unbroken them apart wondering what I could cause with them. I already have a razz feeder in the garden made from wires on which you just tie stain/seeds balls but IT it open to the rainwater and therefore the balls bugger off damp. So I got this idea of making a red-hot one using the pans to protect the seeds balls from the rain. Hither how I made information technology with only what I base laying roughly in my storage.

Supplies

1 large frying pan for the rain shelter

2 small pans for bottom breathe and irrigate cup

1 rib rod with washers and nuts

some wood offcuts

duplicate-sided tape

But completely of above could equal changed according to what you have under hand.

Stair 1: Clipped the Pans Down

for the 2 smaller pans, I disregard off the height down with angle grinder. Beware to have optic protection as silver bits are flying around!

file or moxie the edges so they get diplomatic

Step 2: Practise Through

drill a pickle in the midway of the bulky pan which wish cook the "roof"

In one of the smaller pans, practice session a central hole and more holes every around for weewe drainage.

Step 3: Wood Spacers

to adjust the pinnacle 'tween bottom pan and "roof", I prepared whatever Ellen Price Wood dowels that I drilled in the center at the threaded rod diameter (6mm in my showcase)

Step 4: Assembly

use the threaded rod, washers and bolts to put together the large genus Pan (roof) and the smaller one.

Footstep 5: Suspension

I had some metal wire laying around, just adequate distance for a 3-pointedness suspension. I drilled 3 holes at 120° in the roof pan and used electric blocks to fix the cables together.

I used 2 more blocks to keep a length of wire loose under the roof and away adding a number of woodwind instrument dowel, this ready-made an easy perch.

Step 6: Seeds Ball Fixing

for this step, I used a small snap ring that I geostationary on midpoint pole with a bit of rope and thermal paste so it does not slip out.

Step 7: Urine Pan

The second small pan that I cut down in height will be located happening top of the roof to receive water.

I cut 3 woodwind blocks to avoid the bolt of lightning at the peak of the roof. I just fixed them with double sided tape under the pan. This water goat god can be removed if required as it is not fixed to the roof.

Step 8: Tree Fixing

I put-upon a metallic-looking rod which I drilled through and added a key anchor rin fixed through this hole and receiving 2 of the 3 intermission cables.

2 cables ties to fix the metal gat on a shoetree branch and job is done. this took me about 2 hours to human body and the day after the installation, the birds were already flying around it. The seeds chunk is unmoving up right under the top and I added extraordinary seeds in the bottom plate also.

Hope this will avail our little birds to rifle through the winter.
